The rules
Simple competition. Public outcome.
The leaderboard starts at $1 and advances in whole-dollar amounts. Hold first place for 24 uninterrupted hours and the verified pot, less payment-processing costs, goes to your selected verified charity.
1. Taking the lead
- The opening top bid is $1.
- After that, the next top bid is exactly $1 above the verified current leader.
- Only a completed, verified payment that becomes number one can start or reset the 24-hour clock.
- A pending, failed, refunded, reversed, fraudulent, or disputed payment does not establish a valid lead.
2. Choosing a charity
- A bidder submits the intended charity's official URL before placing a bid. The selection is public if that bidder takes the lead.
- Every new leader may choose a different charity, so the charity in the lead can change during the auction.
- The final selection must be a legitimate charity that Giveback.lol can verify and pay by debit card through an official donation channel.
- If a selected organization cannot be verified or paid safely, the recipient defaults to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital before funds are sent.
3. Winning the auction
When the server-controlled clock reaches zero without another verified paid bidder taking first place, the auction closes. The person or organization in first is the final leader, and their verified charity is the recipient for the auction.
Giveback.lol initiates the donation immediately after the auction result and charity details are verified. Payment-network timing, fraud checks, or a charity's checkout availability can affect when the receiving organization posts the funds.
4. Adding to the pot without ranking
Donation-only payments add to the auction's pot but never appear as a ranked bid, take the number-one position, or reset the 24-hour timer. A donor may stay anonymous publicly.
5. Public identity and links
Bidders may display a reasonable product URL, X handle, company, organization, or anonymous label. Giveback.lol may edit, hide, or reject an identity or destination that is misleading, unsafe, disruptive, or unrelated to a legitimate person, product, or organization.
Listings and destinations may not include:
- Adult or sexually explicit content
- Scams, impersonation, malware, or deceptive claims
- Hateful, threatening, violent, or illegal content
- Chat or community invite links
- URL shorteners or masked destinations
- Affiliate, referral, or tracking parameters
6. Pot, costs, and proof
The auction pot includes verified bidder and donation-only payments. Giveback.lol donates 100% of that verified pot after subtracting payment-processing costs. No platform percentage is retained from the verified pot.
Giveback.lol publishes completed-auction details and donation proof after the funds are sent. Lifetime donated totals count completed, evidenced donations only.
7. Fairness and enforcement
Giveback.lol may review payments, identities, links, and charity selections to protect the leaderboard and recipients. Attempts to manipulate the clock, payment verification, ranking, clicks, or public identity may be removed or disqualified. Refunds, reversals, and disputes are handled under applicable law and payment-provider rules.
